I migliori 50 album del 2006: il verdetto dell’NME

La redazione del New Musical Express ha stabilito quali siano stati i cinquanta migliori album del 2006. Hanno vinto, non sorprendentemente visto che la band è stata praticamente scoperta e poi attivamente sostenuta dal settimanale stesso, gli Arctic Monkeys con il loro CD di debutto “Whatever people say I am, that’s what I’m not”. La canzone più triste degli ultimi 20 anni – Ecco la top ten del Rolling Stone

La rivista americana Rolling Stone ha pensato bene di pubblicare un sondaggio per decretare la canzone più triste degli ultimi vent`anni. Il singolare scettro è andato ai defunti Verve di Richard Ashcroft, con la ballad strappalacrime “The Drugs Don`t Work”, il cui ritornello recitava i versi spezzacuore “La droga non funziona, ma so che mi farà rivedere il tuo viso, anche se rende tutto peggio”.

La band inglese ha battuto colleghi del calibro di Robbie Williams, piazzatosi al secondo posto con “Angels”, Sinead O`Connor, Christina Aguilera e Radiohead.
